A regular CV/resume in today’s digital landscape often gets lost or overlooked, so I have decided to show my skills by creating an interactive website to show off all of my experience in a way that’s more visually engaging for employers.
Check out a collection of work i have completed for various projects. This can include personal projects to client based work.
As an accomplished Technical Lead with a passion for technology and design, I excel at transforming complex ideas into user-friendly digital experiences. My career has been marked by a dedication to enhancing businesses’ online presence, as seen in my work at Map Media, where I led the transition from Wix to WordPress and developed SEO strategies using tools like Ahrefs and SEMrush. I also created the online directory Searchmelocal.co.uk, supporting local businesses and generating B2B leads. With a strong foundation in both technical and business management, complemented by a Master’s in 3D Games Art, I am dedicated to driving impactful digital solutions, whether through project leadership, optimising digital strategies, or mentoring future tech professionals.
This course acted as a gateway into the Digital Industry, learning the basics of design and essential transferable skills.
During the first year of this course i learned about all specialisations of the games industry: Design, Art, Animation. At the end of the first year at Teesside we had to choose a specialisation to continue with in the following years, i chose Art as that is what i felt i learned the most from and was more appealing to me at the time.
After graduating my Bachelor’s degree i decided to continue persuing 3D Art by returning to Tesside to complete my Master’s degree in 3D Games Art.
A look into my work experience following the completion of my education, I would like to explain the gaps in my employment history but unfortunately there isn’t any!
Bar & Kitchen Team Member
After completing university i needed to find employment immediately, this lead me to working at The Southfield. here i began to improve my communication skills by working behind the bar, this was a very fast paced environment especially pre-covid but apparently not fast paced enough as i was then cross-trained to be able to work in a busy kitchen. Preparing food during peak hours and being able to help out where needed, i then became aware of certain stock controlling systems in place and learning more back of house skills.
Team Leader
Having been cross trained on both bar & kitchen as well as helping other local pubs following the pandemic, i showed my peers i was enthusiastic about the industry and willing to progress and do more, this began my management training showing i could lead a team in any environment and learning more about how to run and manage a business. This job role also made me a key holder to the premises where i was also in charge of managing cash flow on shifts i would lead.
Deputy Manager
After completing most on the job learning modules and showing a strong understanding of the business, I was offered the position of Deputy Manager as soon as it was available. This role came with additional responsibilities of assisting the general manager with stock, cash, and any inspections on premises. This role gave me the opportunity to meet other amazing managers across many other pubs and areas giving me insight into the larger picture of management.
Technical Manager
In 2023 i made a career shift away from hospitality. Whilst maintaining my knowledge of management and leadership skills I transferred this to an industry more aligned with my University experience. Being able to work and lead a team of designers to build websites for clients (examples of these can be found on my Portfolio)
I am trained and knowledgeable in a variety of different software and applications.
